This month’s Mini Blog Hop theme is all about my favourite season, Autumn. I love the falling leaves that make the most beautiful carpet on the ground. The chill in the air that tells you winter isn’t too far away, and you can start to pull on your woolly warmers. And last but not least, the excitement for all crafters everywhere that that special time of year is slowly approaching. Any excuse for us to whip out our pretty papers & glittery embellishments.
For this month’s theme I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies. I love how this set includes all seasons, with leaves, snowflakes, blossoms, a deckchair and waves. As the song goes, “four seasons in one day”, or in this case ‘four seasons in one kit’!!
I started by cutting out lots and lots of leaves in Whisper White & Vellum. As I had chosen a grey wreath, I wanted to keep the colour scheme simple, a contrast to the obvious colourful autumn spectrum.
Once I had cut them, I then started to push some into the wreath, gluing others onto the ones firmly in place. I decided it needed a bit of sparkle, so I opted for silver glimmer paper, as I thought this colour scheme would last through Winter too.
I finished with Fresh Fig sheet ribbon & Fresh Fig Twine. Tying a little kraft embellishment tag onto it with a little wooden heart.
