Botanical Butterfly

Hello lovelies,

Today I wanted to show two SUPER simple cards I made recently using the FREE Botanical Butterfly papers from Sale A Bration. They were created by simply cutting into these beautiful papers, there was hardly any stamping involved.

For the card above I used the polka dot pattern as a background. I absolutely love polka dots & anything monochrome so this is one of my favourite patterns in this paper set.

I then cut the flowers from one of the floral patterned papers, sticking them down with dimensionals so I could tuck Butterfly Elements underneath (another FREEBIE with any order over £45).

The butterfly was punched out using the Butterfly Duet punch, which co-ordinates with the papers so you can punch straight from the DSP.

I finished with a sentiment from the Follow Your Dreams stamp set, which I adore. The sentiment is perfect for us creatives who dare to dream with stamps and inks.

My second card was inspired by a card I saw in a shop. I love taking inspiration home and creating it myself using what I have. This time I used the larger, monochrome butterfly patterned paper, and cut three different sized butterflies out.

The top butterfly was coloured with a dauber using Mint Macaron ink in the centre, and Smoky Slate towards the edges of the wings. The bottom butterfly was coloured, again using a dauber, in Petal Pink & Calypso Coral. The middle butterfly was coloured in with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack, using the darker shade in the centre and the lighter shade towards the edges.

To add a touch of sparkly to the butterflies I traced over the lines their wings using my Fine Tip Glue, and sprinkled gold glitter dust. The butterflies turned out more beautiful than I had imagined.

  1. My goodness these look like they are real and about to jump off of the page! You are either really good at this or the stamps are that fantastic. Blessings! Lee
