I’ve been playing with this fantastic stamp set that literally has EVERY sentiment you would ever need!! Yes it’s expensive, but as most things that are pricey, they’re an investment and this is one investment you will see a return on in nearly every single card you make.
For the first card the idea came from reading all the sweet sentiments in the set (it took me a while as there’s a LOT!), stamping the ones I loved and then creating a bespoke message using them.
The stamparatus is great for this as you can put all the sentiments on in one go. Once I had stamped them, I then cut them up so I could stick them on top of my background with dimensionals.
For the background, I used my aqua pen to create a really light watercolour wash using Soft Sea Foam. I did this just in the centre so it was behind the sentiments. I then used a stamp from Timeless Textures (an old classic, but timeless as the title suggests) in Smoky Slate to create a subtle splatter effect. I added hearts using Pick a Pennant stamp Set, and a slither of Botanical Butterfly FREEBIE paper down the side, finished off nicely with a piece of twine. (For those who don’t know my partner’s surname is Twine, so it has become my signature embellishment lol).
My second card was a more simpler style, again using the monochrome stripe side of Botanical Butterfly DSP and Well Said stamp set . This time I created a splatter effect using my copper shimmer ink that was leftover from Christmas. To do this I just dipped my aquapen in the copper ink, getting quite a lot on, and then with a quick motion down I threw the ink onto the card. I added some gold glimmer stars using an old punch (the first one I ever bought!) and finished by dotting a black fineliner all over.
The sentiment was embossed in white embossing powder on black card, and stuck on using dimensionals.
