Genuine Gems

This is one of my new fave stamp sets from the brand new Stampin’ Up catalogue. Being a cosmic kinda girl I couldn’t wait to create some cosmic cards to showcase this set.

My first creation uses a watercolour background using Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana and Rich Razzleberry on Shimmer White card. The sentiment was embossed in white on vellum. I added star embellishments using the Twinkle Punch, and space dust using splashes of copper shimmer paint.

I then created a simpler style using the same colours. This time I dropped blobs of ink onto a clear block, then dabbed a scrunched up baby wipe onto it to collect the colour, then dabbed the card all over.

The sentiment was created using an aquapainter to paint the ink onto the stamp, then transfer to the card. Gold glimmer stars and copper splats were added for that essential sparkly effect.

My last card uses the Softly Falling embossing folder, which is sadly retiring this year, with blobs of copper shimmer paint smudged on using the aqua painter in a very haphazard way.

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of white card using Rich Razzleberry, stamped off three times. I added more stars and a bit of ribbon for ultimately metallic effect.

If you would like to learn how to make these cards pop along to our Craft Class this Saturday 27th April at Creat Cafe, Wakefield.
