Magnolia Lane Stampset

I sat outside in the glorious sunshine earlier today water-colouring this amazing stamped image from the new Magnolia Lane stamp set.

My boys were at school/nursery, so it was pure heaven to do nothing but chill in the sunshine and enjoy some me time.

I had seen a beautiful card made by the very talented Charlotte Mallett @i.heart.stamps, that inspired me to grab my inks and have a go myself.

I used my aqua painter, shimmer white card, and a selection of soft pink inks; Petal Pink, Blushing Bride & Calypso Coral.

Watercolour is so therapeutic, and you can’t really go wrong. Just take care not to squeeze too much water out of your aqua painter as you apply the ink. I keep a dry cloth close by to keep dabbing my painter on to remove any excess water.

For the leaves I used Mint Macaroon and Pear Pizzazz, also a touch of Tranquil Tide on the stem for a darker effect. It’s amazing how applying layers of colour can bring an image to life.

Once it had dried, I cut the image using the co ordinating frame-lit, and stuck it onto one of the beautiful new laser-cut cards, and added a sentiment from the stamp set, punched out using the Classic Label Punch.

The new Magnolia Lane stamp set & co ordinating frame-lits will be available to order June 4th.
